UAT Testing
1. How to test UAT?
You test on functionality/usability of the application. It’s assured that UNIT/INTEGRATION/
ACCEPTANCE is performed successfully.
UAT is tested in an Environment which is closely resembles the real world or production
environment.
2. What is a UAT plan?
It actually tests the planning strategy/describes the entry/exist category
3. What is UAT TEST CASE?
A UAT test case helps the execution team to test the application thoroughly. This also helps to
ensure testing team covers the entire scenario.
4. When is USECASES PREPARED?
Used Case created during Requirement documentation/definition phase.
It’s used as an input to creating test cases.
5. When do you do UAT Testing?
UAT testing is done on the final step of the application. Right before rolling out.
Usually the END USERS OF THE APPLICATION TEST THE APPLICATION BEFORE ACCEPTING
THE APPLICATION. This type of testing gives the end users the confidence that application
meets the requirements.
UAT testing also helps nail bugs of the usability of the app
Pre-Requisites of UAT –
UNIT, INTEGRATION, FUNTIONAL, SYSTEM TESTING SHOULD BE COMPLETED BEFORE UAT.
Usually, many technical bugs are fixed/resolved before coming to UAT Testing.

Ensure an effective UAT

2. UAT Test cases ensures and covers all scenarios
3. And real scenarios for the CLIENT/END USERS.
7. How does BA/SME do in UAT Testing?
Inputs from BA/SME help in creating Test Cases for UAT, Each UAT Scenario should written
and before execution – Peer review is necessary & sign off as well.
8. Quality Assurance functional testing with an emphasis of User Acceptance Testing
I have done UAT testing in BOA – I was an Execution Analyst/QA tester. It was in a quite a
difficult phase because there were issues with Environment.
When I had to do UAT testing I had to select the team for UAT testing in BOA. Including
myself/5 other colleagues of mine.
After the scripts were completed by off shore team – I reviewed/signed off before executing
them & analyzing the script for any defects which could bounce back during the process. And
made sure it covered all the scenarios of the application Bill Pay and we were in production
environment while testing the application for UAT.
UAT Test cases which were written off shore actually helped me understand the application &
execute it thoroughly before alive production testing of the application.
I have worked closely with BA/SME during this phase for input of scripts or the application
testing.
Also during the testing – The clients who were present in the production environment used to
pick script randomly for testing just to ensure the application is acceptable & ready for realtime customers.
